Post Graduate Entrance Test in Architecture (PGETA)

The Post Graduate Entrance Test in Architecture (PGETA) is administered by the Council of Architecture, the leading authority in setting standards for architectural institutions. This nationwide test offers a streamlined application process, benefiting institutions, students, and the public by providing a single gateway to Master of Architecture programs across the country.

Launched in 2008, PGETA addresses the challenges faced by students applying to multiple architecture schools. By offering a unified entrance exam, the Council aims to reduce the burden of numerous applications and travel, ensuring students can pursue their preferred institutions without unnecessary hardship.

PGETA has been conducted annually by the Council, following the guidelines of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2005.

These Regulations state that candidates must pass an Architecture Aptitude Test, either the National Standard Examination in Architecture (NSEA) or PGETA, for admission to architecture programs.

PGETA assesses a candidate's aptitude for architecture through evaluations of cognitive skills, spatial reasoning, creative design, and logical analysis, building on their previous education.
