Renewal of Registration

Registration with the Council of Architecture is required to remain valid and up to date in order to continue practicing the profession of architecture and using the title and style of “Architect” in India.

Registered Architects are required to renew their Certificate of Registration periodically as prescribed by the Council of Architecture. Renewal ensures the continued inclusion of the architect’s name in the Register of Architects maintained by the Council.

Architects are advised to renew their registration within the prescribed timeline to avoid fine/penalty.

Further, architects residing outside India must surrender their certificate of registration under the Architects Act, 1972, before engaging in the profession abroad.
